第５３回ミロンガ開催のご報告

　２０１１年９月１日（木）午後６時３０分から午後９時３０分まで、第５３回目のTokyo Milongaを中目黒ＧＴプラザホール（目黒区）で開きました。大型で強い台風１２号が北上し、悪天候が予想されましたが、幸い雨も降らず、一日を終えることができました。参加者数は男性３７人、女性３９人の計７６人（男性比率４８・７％）。過去５３回の累計参加者は４１０６人、１回当たりの平均が７７・５人、男性比率は４９・１％でした。直近５回の参加者数は１回当たりの平均が８８・４人となっています。

　選曲はサニーさんが担当しました。「当たり前にあると思っていることの有難味――。アルゼンチンタンゴを楽しめる環境があること。踊る相手がいること。同じ”場”に集って踊る楽しみを大勢で共有すること。そんなあれこれに思いを馳せると、縁あってその日その時のミロンガに集まった方々が、皆さんそれぞれに楽しんで過ごせることを願ってやみません。そんな思いを抱きながら、心地よく踊れる曲をフレッシュな構成で組み立てます。ソロでTokyo MilongaのＤＪを担当するのは、今回が最後となります。垣根なく気軽に楽しめる日常のミロンガというものが、この後もさまざまな形で発展していくことを信じながら…。お互いが気持ちよく踊れるようなふるまいがもっともっと広がり深まることを願いながら…。Tokyo Milongaを楽しんでくださっている方々や、支えている方々への”ありがとう”という思いを込めてお送りします」。ＤＪブースに張り付き、フロアをじっと見つめる姿が印象的でした。

　今回は写真を撮り忘れてしまったため、写真なしでの開催レポートとなりました。申し訳ありません。次回のTokyo Milongaは９月１６日（金）です。いよいよ残り２回となりました。選曲はShino Bさんが担当します。会場は中目黒ＧＴプラザホール。多くの皆さんのお越しをお待ちしております。

　タンダの選択をすべてその場で行うのはドキドキもありますが、それ以上にワクワクのほうが上回りました。フロアに目を転じると、それぞれにいい感じで楽しんでいるペアの姿が多かったことが嬉しかったです。これがさらに発展して、フロア全体としての一体感が醸し出されることを願い、またそこに向かって選曲の面からも貢献していきたいという気持ちも強まりました。ライブ選曲の醍醐味をまだまだ追求したいという思いを抱きつつ、ソロでの担当は終ります。有難うございました。最終回のコラボではまた何らかの形で関わりますので、よろしくお願いします。

Report: 53rd Tokyo Milonga

The 53rd Tokyo Milonga took place on Thursday, September 1 at Nakameguro GT Hall, Meguro-ku, Tokyo. Fortunately there was no rain despite warnings of the powerful Typhoon No. 12 heading in our direction. Attendance totaled 37 men and 39 women for a total of 76 dancers (48.7% men). Total attendance to date is 4,106, with an average of 77.5 per milonga (49.1% men). Average attendance for the last five milongas is 88.4.

Sonny was on duty in the DJ booth. His message: “I am grateful for the things we usually take for granted ? having the resources to enjoy Argentine tango, the existence of dance partners, being able to share with many people the joy of dancing in one place. Reflecting on these themes, my wish is that everyone who comes together at a milonga will enjoy it in their own way. With this in mind, I will DJ on the night by creating a list of danceable songs in a new way.

This is the last time I DJ solo at Tokyo Milonga. I’m confident that a culture of relaxed, barrier-free milongas that become part of our daily lives will continue to develop in Tokyo. I hope that all of us will cultivate respect and consideration for others so that the dance floor is pleasant for everyone. I will DJ on the 1st full of gratitude for everyone having a good time at Tokyo Milonga, and to all of you who have worked so hard to make it a success. Sonny’s dedication to his role left a lasting impression―stationed permanently at the DJ booth and keeping a close watch over the dance floor.

DJ-ing on the fly is always a bit nerve-racking, but the excitement overrode the nerves. I was happy to see so many couples dancing harmoniously on the floor. It strengthened my resolve to develop this further to create a sense of harmony throughout the venue and contributing to this through DJ-ing. This was my last solo gig at Tokyo Milonga, but I remain enthusiastic about refining my life DJ-ing skills. Thank you to everyone who attended. I’m looking forward to the final Tokyo Milonga when I will be collaborating with the other regular DJs. We hope you will join us.
