御礼（東日本大震災に対する義援金その５）

　４月２７日開催の第４３回Tokyo Milongaに参加いただき、有難うございました。すでに記載しました通り、今回は参加費の１割を東日本大震災に対する義援金として、日本赤十字社を通じて募金させて戴きます。主催関係者を含め、８９人の方に参加いただいたことから、参加費の１割として７１２０円を、４月２８日付けで日本赤十字社に振り込みました。３月２４日開催分として１万６０６０円、３月３０日開催分として１１万９３３９円、４月７日開催分として７５２０円、４月１３日開催分として６４００円を同様に募金したことから、Tokyo Milongaとしての東日本大震災に対する義援金合計は１５万６４３９円になりました。皆さまにはご協力いただき、誠に有難うございました。被災地の復興に少しでも役立ってくれればと願っております。Tokyo Milongaは５月開催のミロンガでも、参加費の１割を東日本大震災に対する義援金として募金する予定です。

Thank you to everyone who attended the 43rd Tokyo Milonga on April 27. We donated 10% of the entry fee totaling 7,120 yen (80 yen x 89) to the Japanese Red Cross Society’s Great East Japan Earthquake Relief Fund. We made the bank transfer to the Red Cross on April 28. To date, Tokyo Milonga has donated 156,439 yen to the earthquake relief fund ? 16,060 yen from the proceeds of the March 24 milonga, 119,339 yen raised at the March 30 milonga, 7,520 yen from the proceeds of the April 7 milonga, 6,400 yen from the proceeds of the April 13 milonga, and 7,120 yen from the April 27 milonga. Thank you again for helping us to do what we can for those affected by the earthquake and tsunami. We will continue to donate a percentage of our entry fee to the Red Cross.

第４３回ミロンガ開催のご報告

　２０１１年４月２７日（水）午後６時３０分から午後９時３０分まで、第４３回目のTokyo Milongaを中目黒ＧＴプラザホール（目黒区）で開きました。この日は深夜から雨の予報で、風も強く、悪天候の中での開催となりました。出足も悪く、１９時時点では４０人弱でしたが、徐々に参加者が増え、最終的には男性４５人、女性４４人の計８９人（男性比率５０・６％）の皆さんにご来場戴きました。過去４３回の累計参加者は３１８７人、１回当たりの平均が７４・１人、男性比率は４８・８％です。直近５回の参加者数は１回当たりの平均が８５・０人となっています。

　選曲は『Milongueando en el　'50』をテーマにshueiさんが選曲を担当しました。「１９５０年代のミロンガをイメージして選曲します。そこでどんな曲がかかり、どんな雰囲気だったのか？どんな踊りをしていたか？ぜひ想像しながら踊ってみて下さい」（shueiさん）。

　今回も参加費の１割（８９人×８０円＝７１２０円）を日本赤十字社に東日本大震災の義援金として募金します。また、ケーキやお酒など多くの差し入れを戴き、有難うございました。３月＆４月のお誕生日祝いも合わせて行いました。これまでワインはミロンガの開始時間から提供していましたが、あまりに早い時間に無くなってしまうため、次回以降は１９時過ぎを目途にお出しすることに変更します。また、黒い女性用のカーディガンの忘れ物がありました。お心当たりのある方は、tango@tokyomilonga.comまでご連絡下さい。

　次回のTokyo Milongaはゴールデンウィーク後半の５月６日（金）の開催です。『世界のミロンガ』シリーズ第３弾となる「ニューヨーク・ナイト」をお届けします。会場は中目黒ＧＴプラザホール。多くの皆さんのお越しをお待ちしております。

【shueiさんによる選曲後記】

　今回は５０年代のミロンガ、というテーマで選曲しましたが、日本ではジャズ喫茶と並んで多く見られた５０年代のタンゴ喫茶の当時のイメージを意識して曲を選んでみました。昨夜は踊り場の雰囲気がとても良く、ＤＪブースから見ているだけで楽しめました。

Report: The 43rd Tokyo Milonga

The 43rd Tokyo Milonga took place at Nakameguro GT Plaza Hall in Meguro-ku, Tokyo from 18:30?21:30 on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. It was a windy evening with rain forecast. It took a while for the hall to fill up ? there were fewer than 40 dancers at 7pm, but numbers gradually increased. Attendance totaled 89, with 45 men and 43 women (50.6% men). Total attendance of the 43 Tokyo Milongas comes to 3,187, with an average of 74.1 per milonga, of whom 48.8% are men. Average attendance at the past five milongas is 85.0.

DJ Shuei’s theme was Milongueando el ’50: “I’m creating a playlist reminiscent of a milonga in the 1950s. What songs did they play then, and what did the milonga feel like? How did they dance in those days? Let your imagination run free as you dance.”

Once again we donated 10% of the entry fee (89 x 80 yen = 7,120 yen) to the Japanese Red Cross Society’s Great East Japan Earthquake Relief Fund. Thanks as always to everyone who brought nibbles, cake and wine to share. We also celebrated birthdays in March and April. Going forward, we are going to serve wine sometime after 7pm, not at the start of the milonga, because we run out very quickly.

My playlist theme was a milonga in the 1950s, thinking about the many tango caf?s that opened in Japan alongside the jazz caf?s in the 50s. I enjoyed watching the dance floor from the DJ’s booth last night, because it was such a great atmosphere.

今後の中目黒ＧＴプラザホールの利用について

　Tokyo Milongaのメーン会場として使っている中目黒ＧＴプラザホールの施設保有者である目黒区から、今後の利用について案内があったため、皆さまにもお伝えします。５月と６月の利用は電力需給のバランスが改善しているため、夜間も含めて利用できます。また、７―９月（夏季）の利用は「国の最終的な電力需給対策を踏まえて決定することになるため、改めてお知らせする」とのことです。

Meguro-ku, which owns our main milonga venue Nakameguro GT Hall, informed us about the use of the hall in the coming months. The hall will be available for hire in the evenings as well as during the day in May and June because of the improved electric power supply and demand situation. Meguro-ku will inform us at a later date regarding the use of the hall in the summer months (July - September) after the government finalizes its policy measures to address the expected power shortage.

第４２回ミロンガ開催のご報告

　２０１１年４月１３日（水）午後６時３０分から午後９時３０分まで、第４２回目のTokyo Milongaを中目黒ＧＴプラザホール（目黒区）で開きました。最高気温２０度と予想される春らしい穏やかな天候のもと、４月第２回目のミロンガを開催できました。参加者数は男性４０人、女性４０人の計８０人（男性比率５０・０％）でした。過去４２回の累計参加者は３０９８人、１回当たりの平均が７３・８人、男性比率は４８・８％です。直近５回の参加者数は１回当たりの平均が８３・６人となっています。

　選曲は『花明り』をテーマにサニーさんが担当しました。「桜が満開で、闇の中でもほのかに明るく感じられることを花明りと呼ぶそうです。仄かな明りのもとタンゴが静かに咲き乱れるのも一興。ひそやかに・・・しめやかに・・・」（サニーさん）。参加者の方もレギュラーＤＪそれぞれの個性を感じておられるようで、ＤＪの好みなどをお話し戴く機会が増えたように感じます。また、久し振りにスクリーンを使い、サニーさんが選んだ動画も放映しました。

　今回も参加費の１割（８０人×８０円＝６４００円）を日本赤十字社に東北関東大震災義援金として募金します。また、差し入れなどを戴き、有難うございました。次回のTokyo Milongaは２週間後の４月２７日（水）の開催です。会場は中目黒ＧＴプラザホール。選曲はshueiさんが担当します。多くの皆さんのお越しをお待ちしております。

【サニーさんによる選曲後記】

　今回は踊りやすい曲、踊りたくなる曲の中でも、ほのかにまろやかな雰囲気のものを柱として編みあげた選曲でした。フロアを見ると、多くの方がフロアの外側をきれいに回っていらした様子。ぽっかり空いた真ん中に、花明りが灯る。そんなイメージが浮かんだ気がしました。

The 42nd Tokyo Milonga took place at Nakameguro GT Plaza Hall in Meguro-ku, Tokyo from 18:30?21:30 on Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Attendance totaled 80 (including staff), split evenly between men and women. Total attendance of the 42 Tokyo Milongas comes to 3,098, with an average of 73.8 per milonga, of whom 48.8% are men. Average attendance at the past five milongas is 83.6.

DJ Sonny’s theme was hana-akari- the subtle sense of luminosity of cherry blossoms in full bloom at night: “We are entertained for a moment as we dance tango with control and restraint in subdued lighting, like the cherry blossoms flowering with such abandon in the dark. Let there be a stillness and gentleness to our dancing.”

We are hearing more discussions about the individual tastes of our regular DJs as dancers become more aware of this. We resumed DVD screenings again after a period of doing without to save power. DJ Sonny screened a Sade live DVD.

My playlist for the evening focused on subtle, mellow songs that are also inspiring and easy to dance to. I noticed as I watched the dance floor that most dancers were moving in a clean line on the outside track. I imagined the soft luminance of cherry blossoms in the empty center of the dance floor.

５万アクセスを突破しました

　皆さまのお陰を持ちまして、当サイトのアクセス数が５万アクセスを突破しました（携帯電話からのアクセス分を除く）。有難うございます。２００９年１２月８日にサイトの一般公開をスタートし、約３カ月後には１万アクセスを突破、その後も順調にアクセス数を伸ばし、約１年４カ月で一つの節目を迎えることができました。現在は１日当たり１００アクセス程度を維持しています。記事の本数も開催レポートを中心に、現在は１００タイトルほどに充実しました。また、サイトの英訳化も並行して取り組んでおります。今後もタイムリーな情報の提供によって、皆さんのお役に立つサイトを目指していきます。引き続きどうぞ宜しくお願いします。

Tokyo Milonga Website Records Over 50,000 Visits

Thanks to your support, tokyomilonga.com has recorded over 50,000 visits (excluding access by mobile phone). The website went live on December 8, 2009, recording over 10,000 visits in three months. The number of visits continued to rise thereafter and reached the 50,000 milestone in 16 months. Currently we are averaging about 100 visits a day. We now have 100 articles on the site, mainly reports of our milongas, and we are in the process of translating some of the content into English. We update the site frequently to provide useful, up-to-date information. Please keep checking in!

第４１回ミロンガ開催のご報告

　２０１１年４月７日（木）午後６時３０分から午後９時３０分まで、第４１回目のTokyo Milongaを中目黒ＧＴプラザホール（目黒区）で開きました。スタートから出足は好調で、１９時過ぎには４０人を突破、その後も続々と参加者数が増えました。参加者数は男性４９人、女性４５人の計９４人（男性比率５２・１％）となりました。過去４１回の累計参加者は３０１８人、１回当たりの平均が７３・６人、男性比率は４８・７％です。お陰様で累計参加者数が３０００人を突破しました。直近５回の参加者数は１回当たりの平均が８３・４人となっています。

　選曲は『曲の中に描かれる絵画－その名はブエノスアイレス』をテーマに、milonguera tomokoさんが担当しました。「今回はブエノスアイレスでの思い出の曲を取り混ぜてみました。ポルテーニョたちが大切に踊り、演奏し、歌っているその音楽にはブエノスアイレスという絵が描かれている。そして、そこにはポルテーニョたちの感性が溢れている。その絵をしっかり音楽を感じながら再現することを大切にしていきたい、そんな思いで選曲してみました」（milonguera tomokoさん）。２ヶ月のブエノスアイレス滞在から帰国し、初の選曲は好評で「もう一度同じ選曲で開催して欲しい」との要望もありました。

　昨晩はミロンガの後、目黒川沿いを歩きました。明かりこそないけれど、その中で桜が力強く咲く姿に励まされました。自然の力は時に厳しく、でも時には優しく人間の感情を呼び覚ましてくれます。昨晩はブエノスアイレスのミロンゲーロたちが、メロディーとリズムを楽しみながら音を紡ぐ姿を思い出しながら選曲しました。その姿には人の活気が溢れる・・。そんな空気をミロンガの空間に吹き込んでいけるような選曲を、今後も心がけていきたいと思います。またどうぞ踊りに、聴きにいらして下さい。

Report: The 41st Tokyo Milonga

The 41st Tokyo Milonga took place at Nakameguro GT Plaza Hall in Meguro-ku, Tokyo from 18:30?21:30 on Thursday, April , 2011. The hall filled up early ? there were more than 40 people an hour into the milonga. Attendance came to 94 in total (including staff), of whom 49 were men and 45 were women (52.1% men). Total attendance of the 41 Tokyo Milongas has topped 3,000, with an average of 73.6 per milonga, of whom 48.7% are men. Average attendance at the past five milongas is 83.4.

DJ milonguera tomoko’s theme for the night was “pictures of Buenos Aires painted in the music.” Her comment: “I’ve included memorable songs from my recent visit to Buenos Aires. The music that Porte?os lovingly dance to, play, and sing paints a picture of Buenos Aires. The music is full of the Porte?o sensibility. My intention as the DJ is to reproduce these pictures while maintaining a strong feel for the music.” It was her first gig since she returned from her two-month visit to Buenos Aires. Her playlist proved extremely popular, with some dancers asking us to hold another milonga with the same playlist.

Last night, we walked along the Meguro River after the milonga. Our mood was brightened by the sight of the cherry trees flowering with such vitality in the subdued street lights. The power of nature can be so brutal at times, yet at others it can inspire such tender emotions in us. My playlist is a selection of songs that reminded me of the milongueros of Buenos Aires making music with their bodies as they enjoyed the melody and rhythm. It is such a lively scene! As a DJ my goal is to create playlists that fills the dance floor with this energy. Please come again to dance and listen to the music.
